Software Engineer-Colombo Based

The Software Engineer will play a pivotal role in driving software development initiatives that align with organizational goals and customer needs. This position is responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining high-quality software systems that enhance operational efficiency and business outcomes. By collaborating across teams, the Software Engineer will contribute to innovative solutions that address complex technical challenges while ensuring scalability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop robust software solutions through effective application of design patterns and architectural principles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand system requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Write efficient, maintainable, and well-documented code in accordance with industry best practices.
- Perform comprehensive testing and debugging of software applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Identify and resolve software defects and performance bottlenecks in a timely manner.
- Participate in code reviews, providing and incorporating constructive feedback to continuously improve code quality.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative approaches to enhance existing systems.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, user manuals, and API documentation.
- Take ownership of project timelines, ensuring deliverables are met according to defined deadlines and standards.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by actively contributing to process enhancement initiatives.
- Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and support to develop their technical and professional skills.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software development within an agile environment.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript, with familiarity in relevant frameworks (e.g., Spring, .NET, Node.js).
- Strong understanding of database management systems such as SQL, Oracle, or MongoDB.
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git, along with continuous integration/continuous deployment practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
