Job Overview

One of our client in PNG is looking for Operations Manager in the manufacturing sector which plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of operational strategies that align with organizational goals. This position is responsible for driving efficiency, enhancing productivity, and optimizing resources across manufacturing processes. The Operations Manager will serve as a key liaison between various departments, fostering a culture of continuous improvement while addressing market demands and adhering to safety and compliance regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement operational strategies that align with business objectives and drive continuous improvement efforts across manufacturing functions.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure the production schedule is met while maintaining quality standards and adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and develop actionable insights for performance enhancement.
- Lead and mentor manufacturing teams, promoting a collaborative work environment to enhance employee engagement and professional development.
- Manage supply chain activities, including procurement, inventory control, and logistics, to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery of materials and products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance, to resolve operational challenges and enhance product reliability.
- Implement and monitor best practices in lean manufacturing and quality management systems to reduce waste and improve process efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices, implementing initiatives that promote a safe working environment.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring financial resources are utilized effectively to meet operational goals.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions promptly.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within a manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of process improvement.
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, quality assurance practices, and supply chain management.
- Excellent leadership skills and experience in managing cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in using manufacturing software, data analysis tools, and ERP systems.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, demonstrating a strong strategic mindset.
